Membership Categories

  • Regular Family Member - A Regular Family Member receives all privileges of the club including election to office, voting rights, and holding equity rights in club property. Club use privileges are extended to the Member’s spouse and the Member’s children through age 24, or to the Member’s non-related domestic partner who permanently resides with the Member. Dues, minimum spending and certain fees are required.
  • Regular Individual Member - A Regular Individual Member receives all privileges of the club including election to office, voting rights, and holding equity rights in club property. These privileges are limited to the named Member exclusively. Clubhouse privileges only are extended to the Member’s spouse and the Member’s children through age 24, or to the Member’s non-related domestic partner who permanently resides with the Member. Dues, minimum spending and certain fees are required.
  • Intermediate Family/Individual - An Intermediate Member is an associate member who is between 30 and 42 years of age, receives all privileges of the club except election to office, voting rights, and holding equity rights in club property. An Intermediate Member who has five (5) consecutive years in the category shall be considered a Regular Member and receive certain privileges of the Club including Voting Rights and Election to the Board of Governors. Dues will remain at the Intermediate Member level until it is time to move to the Regular Member category. Club use privileges are extended to the Member’s spouse and the Member’s children through age 24, or to the Member’s non-related domestic partner who permanently resides with the Member. Dues, minimum spending and certain fees are required. Upon reaching age 43, an Intermediate Member may become a Regular Member with no additional initiation fee.
  • Junior Member - A Junior Member is an associate member who is 29 years of age or younger, receives all privileges of the club except election to office, voting rights, and holding equity rights in club property. Participation in some Club activities may be restricted by age as cited elsewhere in this handbook or in NYS law. Club privileges are extended to the Member’s spouse and the Member’s children or to the Member’s non-related domestic partner who permanently resides with the Member. Upon reaching age 30, a Junior Member may become a Junior/Intermediate Member with no additional initiation fee. Dues, minimum spending and certain fees are required.
  • Social Member - A Social Member is an associate member who receives privileges of the clubhouse and swimming pool. Practice facilities are available for an additional fee. The same Club use privileges are extended to the Member’s spouse and the Member’s children through age 24, or the Member’s non-related domestic partner who permanently resides with the Member. Golf privileges at SCC are limited to rounds of golf on five occasions (green fee not required). A Social Member is a Member of SCC and therefore cannot play golf at SCC as the guest of another member. Dues, minimum spending and certain fees are required. A Social Member may not be elected to office, vote or hold equity rights in club property.
  • Social with Golf Member (Two Categories)

    Category A*Social with Golf Member is an associate member who receives privileges of the clubhouse, swimming pool and practice facilities. The same Club use privileges are extended to the Member’s spouse and the Member’s children through age 24, or the Member’s non-related domestic partner who permanently resides with the Member. Golf privileges at SCC are limited to rounds of golf on fifteen (15) occasions. A multi-day event counts as 1 occasion. Membership includes the handicapping system. A Social with Golf Member may not be elected to office, vote or hold equity rights in club property. A Social with Golf Member is a Member of SCC and therefore cannot play golf at SCC as the guest of another member. A Social with Golf Member is permitted to play golf at reciprocal clubs on a reciprocal basis but will be charged Stafford green fee ($70) and any reciprocal club charges. Dues, minimum spending and certain fees are required.

    Category B*Social with Golf Member is an associate member, who is a member of a private golf course in the Buffalo/Rochester area. Golf privileges at SCC are limited to rounds of golf on twenty (20) occasions. Other privileges and restrictions are stated in section A.

    A round of golf is considered to be 10 holes or more, played on a single occasion, with the exception of multi-day golf events which are considered one occasion. 9 holes or less are considered one half round.

    Just as those played by the member, rounds of golf or occasions played by any family member or domestic partner count toward the permitted occasions.

  • Distinguished Senior Member - A Distinguished Senior Membership is bestowed solely at the discretion and initiative of the Board of Governors in recognition of an individual’s distinguishing contributions to Stafford Country Club, longevity of membership (25+ years) and continued interest in the Club. A Distinguished Senior Member receives all privileges of the club except election to office, voting rights and holding equity rights in club property. Golf privileges at SCC are unlimited rounds of golf with payment of green fees which includes use of a cart and the practice facilities. A Distinguished Senior Member is an associate Member of SCC, therefore cannot play golf as the guest of another member. A Distinguished Senior Member is permitted to play golf at reciprocal clubs on a reciprocal basis but will be charged Stafford green fee ($70) plus any reciprocal club charges.
  • Special Senior Member - A Special Senior Member is a regular member who is 70 years of age or older, and who has 30 continuous years as a golfing member or 40 years of continuous membership, receives all privileges of the club including election to office, voting rights and holding equity rights in club property. The same Club use privileges are extended to the Member’s spouse and the Member’s children through age 24, or to the Member’s non-related domestic partner who permanently resides with the Member. Dues, minimum spending and certain fees are required.
  • Senior Member - A Senior Member is a Regular member who is 70 years of age or older, receives all privileges of the club including election to office, voting rights, and holding equity rights in club property. A Senior Member who does not have five continuous years as a member will be an Associate Member, receiving all privileges of the club except election to office, voting rights, and holding equity rights in club property. The same Club use privileges are extended to the Member’s spouse and the Member’s children through age 24, or to the Member’s non-related domestic partner who permanently resides with the Member. Dues, minimum spending and certain fees are required.
  • Non-Resident Member - A Non-Resident Member is an associate member who receives all the privileges of the club, except election to office, voting rights, and holding equity rights in club property. This is a member who occupies a permanent residence outside of New York State at least 7 months each year. Club use privileges are extended to the Member’s spouse or the Member’s non-related domestic partner who permanently resides with the Member. Golf privileges at SCC are unlimited with payment of a green fee of $70, which includes use of the practice facilities. A Non-Resident Member is a Member of SCC and therefore cannot play golf as the guest of another member. A Non-Resident Member is permitted to play golf at reciprocal clubs on a reciprocal basis but will be charged Stafford green fee ($70) plus any reciprocal club charges. No minimum spending is required; dues and certain fees are required.
  • Special Member - A Special Member is an associate member who is the surviving spouse of a deceased Member of good standing for 10 continuous years. The Special Member receives all privileges of the club except election to office, voting rights, and holding equity rights in club property. These privileges are limited to the named Member exclusively. Dues, minimum spending and certain fees are required.
  • Honorary Member - An Honorary Membership is bestowed solely at the discretion and initiative of the Board of Governors in recognition of an individual’s outstanding and unique contributions, or achievements, related to Stafford Country Club or the game of golf. The Honorary Member is an associate member who receives all privileges of a Regular Member except election to office, voting rights, and holding equity rights in club property. No dues or minimum spending are required. The special nature of this honorarium requires 2/3 plus (1) one vote of the Board of Governors.
  • Corporate Membership - A Corporate Member is a legally formed business entity whose privileges in the club are extended to two certain and named individuals known as Affiliate Members who will have authority to approve monies spent at the Club by the Corporate Member. Only the Affiliate Members can authorize those who can utilize the Club under the corporate membership. The Affiliate Members will receive privileges of the clubhouse, swimming pool, practice facility and grounds. Golf privileges are limited by the exclusion of play on Saturday, Sundays and Holidays before 1:00 PM. They are not eligible to participate in medal play, Travis Cup, Club championships, or utilize Club reciprocals. Affiliate members may substitute in the men’s or women’s 18-hole leagues and join or substitute in the men’s or women’s 9-hole leagues. They can participate in other events provided they are not filled by the general membership. Clients and guests of the corporation will receive the above privileges if accompanied by an Affiliate Member. Employees and their clients and guests will have clubhouse and golf privileges if approved by an Affiliate Member. A Corporate Member or Affiliate Member may not be elected to office, vote or hold equity rights in club property.

** All members will be duly elected, appointed, or approved by the Board of Governors in accordance with the Stafford Country Club Constitution.
** The privileges of the club, respective of membership category, shall be extended to the immediate family of members while they remain a resident of the member’s household, are not self-sustaining, and have not reached their 25th birthday.
*** An Individual’s age as of March 31st determines the membership classification for the year.
*** Regular Members who pay full dues receive all privileges of the club including election to office, voting rights, and holding equity rights in club property.
